Meet our dvm staff

Dr. William A. Mandel grew up in Cleveland Heights , graduated from Beachwood High School and earned a DVM Ohio State University in 1992. He worked in Madison and Geneva before opening his first clinic in 1995 in Wickliffe, Ohio. Dr. Mandel purchased the practice on Taylor Road (1/4 mile from where he was born) in 2006. Dr. Mandel has spoken for numerous clubs, schools and associations including the Association of Avian Veterinarians and has appeared numerous times on the Morning Exchange. He has served as guest practitioner at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine teaching hospital as an exotic and avian practioner. He enjoys hiking, bicycling, white water rafting and painting. A painting of his Viszla dog Hannah graced the cover of the American Veterinary Medical Association Journal in October, 2003. Dr. Mandel is married and lives in Beachwood with his wife Carmela. He has a daughter, Julia.

 

Dr. Sandra Andrulis became an official Clevelander 5 years ago after moving here from New York. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University. Her interests in veterinary medicine include ophthalmology, surgery and emergency medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Andrulis also enjoys taking care of the shelter animals at the Animal Protective League. She currently lives in Shaker Heights with her husband, Erik and their children, Bohdan, Sloane and Ryan. Their furry friends include their cat, Harley and their Doberman, Lexie.

 

Dr. Kristen West obtained her Bachelor of Science in 1996 from St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA. She then went on to veterinary school at The Ohio State University and graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2000. Dr. West began working with Dr. Mandel at his progressive clinic in Wickliffe, Ohio, immediately after graduation. She stayed on in Wickliffe after Dr. Mandel sold his practice, but returned to work with him again at his new practice in November of 2006. Dr. West enjoys many aspects of veterinary medicine but has special interest in internal medicine and exotic animal medicine. She has some experience in wildlife rehabilitation as well. In her spare time, Dr. West most enjoys spending time with her husband, Shawn and their two children. She also enjoys painting, crafts, reading, travel and scrap booking. Her family includes two cats, Oliver and Orange Kitty.
